Affinity Water Assembly – January 2017

On Tuesday Affinity Water gave an assembly to KS2 about how much STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) goes into providing us all with safe, clean drinking water. The children got to think about how much STEM we do in school and if they would like a job in the future that involves using STEM. Later, Year 4 Monet, whose topic this term is Rivers and the Water Cycle, had an excellent, hands-on workshop run by Affinity Water. Using different bits of pipe, their challenge was to work as a team to create a pipe network at least 2m, that would take 500ml of water 30 seconds to travel down it. There was lots of trial and error involved, and the odd wet jumper here and there but Team Monet had great fun and learned lots!
