Book Week – 27th February to 3rd March 2017

During this week, the children enjoyed celebrating the work of Roald Dahl where each class focused on one of his many inspirational story books. In addition to this, the children enjoyed taking part in DEAR our Drop Everything and Read daily sessions where they have special dedicated time during the day to just enjoy reading for pleasure. They also shared their favourite books, brought in books they no longer wanted from home and had the opportunity to take part in our first book swap. The children were very excited to take their new books home to read.

On Thursday as part of World Book day the staff and children dressed up as a range of Roald Dahl characters. Thank you to all of the parents and carers who supported the children with their costumes, they all looked fantastic when they paraded around the hall in our special assembly!

Also a very big thank you to Taylor Wimpey who very generously donated £150 towards new books for our school.  Each class will be enjoying having some new books on their book shelf to read and enjoy!
