Year 4 Affinity Water Visit – Jan 2019

Year 4 used their skills and learning in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) to solve some real-world problems when Jo from Affinity Water came to run a workshop.  Not only did the children learn about saving water through playing some fun games, but they then went on to find out how fast water flows along different lengths of pipe and from different heights of a water tower.  The afternoon was spent designing a new district water supply system and then building the system in miniature using small pipes and connectors.  The highlight was testing their designs using real water, and finding out whether the school, the hospital, the towns and the factory all got a fair share of the supply
