Year 5 Lincolnsfields Centre – Jan 2019

Year 5 started the New Year by stepping back to the 1940’s.  They all looked amazing in their outfits.   We experienced life in a 1940’s classroom which was so different from what we are used to in a 21st century classroom and I think the children were pleased they weren’t at school in that day and age.  Our Blitz experience was sobering and made us realise just how scary life must have been during the war – but also for children who still experience war in other countries today.  We also explored a 1940’s house and garden, complete with Anderson and Morrisson shelters – we were surprised at how cramped they were and how many people had to fit in them.  It was a great day and a fitting way to finish our topic on World War II.
