On Tuesday 25th June, Mr Banks from Hertfordshire Music Service came to Westfield to teach the children and adults about bucket drumming. The children were given a bucket as their drum and a pair of drumsticks. The children practised call and response rhythms and learnt how to conduct the group. They explored dynamics and how to make loud and quiet sounds on their drums. Everybody was given the opportunity to compose their own part of the music and share it with the rest of the class. It was great to see lots of children showing our school values of courage and happiness as they performed with and in front of their peers. It was a great experience enjoyed by all and we can’t wait to have another go!
