Sporting Updates – Jan 2019

Sports Fever

Welcome to Sports Fever who are providing before and after school clubs as well as expert sports tuition in PE lessons. There are a range of clubs on offer from Dodgeball to Multi Skills. Please discuss what is on offer with your child as set out in their most recent letter, a copy of which is available in reception or on the website.

As you are aware we try to offer a wide range of clubs, at an affordable price and at times to suit our children. We view physical activity as a crucial part to our children’s well-being both mentally and physically. Current recommendations are that every child should take part in at least 60 minutes of exercise every day and we try to facilitate this with our extra-curricular activities. We believe our clubs are competitively priced, convenient for our families and allow your child to participate with their friends and family. We welcome any comments and suggestions you have for alternative clubs or timings.

Sports Fever are also providing a dance coach for Year 5 who are eagerly looking forward to performing at the Dacorum Dance competition in March.

Congratulations to our Year 5/6 Plate Team who won their match against Micklem Primary School. Thank you to Mr Young for coaching and managing the team who have progressed tremendously over the season.  Well done boys we are extremely proud of you.

Cross Country

12 pupils from Year 5 & 6 participated in a cross country run at Beechwood Park School in Markyate. The competition was extremely tough as were the ground conditions, however they persevered and ran a distance of 2,000m in under 12 minutes. Well done to Oscar who finished 20th out of a field of 80 runners. Thank you to the parents for their support and to Mrs North who assisted at the event.

Our next event is at Bridgewater School on Saturday 9th March. All children in Year 3 – 6 are invited to attend.
