Sporting Updates – March 2018

This month has been an extremely busy month for competitive sport at Westfield.

Football update

Firstly, we would like to say a ‘VERY BIG ‘congratulations to our Year 6 girls football team who competed against Two Waters Primary school in the semi-final of the Dacorum league and won 2-0. We are extremely proud of them for this achievement and wish them all the very best in the final.

Tag Rugby Festival

Despite the winter weather and the original tournament being postponed due to snow, on Thursday 22nd March our Year 5 children took part in the Dacorum Tag Rugby festival. The Year 5 staff and Mr Jones were extremely proud of all of the children who took part in this event where they really put themselves in the ‘stretch zone’ and worked hard together in their teams showing real sportsmanship.

Dacorum Dance Competition

In complete contrast to rugby, the following evening Year 5 put on their dancing shoes and performed in the Dacorum Dance competition at Sportspace in Hemel Hempstead. The children really did themselves and Westfield proud and it was a great way to end Sports relief week! Thank you to Mr Jones, Mrs Banton, Miss Keegan and Mrs Turner who worked hard with the children choreographing the dance on this year’s theme of the ‘Circus’ as well as giving up their evenings to create all of the costumes.
