On Tuesday 15th October, Year 2 dodged the rain and managed to snatch the only sunny day for weeks for their school trip to Mountfitchet Castle. It was a great opportunity to see a castle and medieval village in action, having learned so much about them in class. We found out about the history of the castle itself, the people that would have occupied it and some rather grisly facts.
The children were an absolute credit to the school, displaying brilliant behaviour and curiosity. We are now going to use the trip as a stimulus to write some amazing reports about castles.
Well done Year 2 and special thanks to the parent helpers who came along to support us and make our trips possible.
