Y5 Trip to The Lincolnsfields Children’s Centre
Last Wednesday, Year 5 took a trip back in time. It was 3rd September 1939. We had an amazing day walking through the 1940’s house learning about how the washing and ironing were done. We also learned all about the Dig for Victory garden and saw how fires were put out during the Blitz (we even had a go!). One of our favourite parts was the Blitz experience where the ‘air raid wardens’ shared stories whilst we tried out the underground shelters. We really enjoyed understanding what life was like without the wonders of modern technology – plastic wasn’t even invented! The staff were so enthusiastic and knowledgeable and really went out of their way to answer our questions – this will really help us with our learning this term.
